Moga Village: Starting the Journey

Umi was fishing on the edge of his secret hideout, a pool of fresh water several meters away from the ocean at the center of the a deserted island just west of Moga Village. He had set up a small tent several months before because of the amount of time he spent fishing for materials. He had made it into his own personal farm, growing herbs and plants there while he was busy hunting, storing up supplies for when he left the archipelago.

Umi was still a newbie hunter, barely garnering enough material to make his two weapons and a bag full of basic bullets. In the mean time, he was taking quests for his village in order to save enough money to leave on a ship. This next particular one was, of course, easy enough. He had to hunt 10 Jaggia, the female species of Jaggi, a bird wyvern. These animals were not much taller than Umi himself, and with his bowgun, all he had to do was wait them out, they would come to him soon enough.

Abel was having a walk around Moga island, he had never thought that he would be able to return to the island when he started his journey as a wandering hunter, but luckily, he had found a ship that was about to leave and needed another sailor, now, after a few weeks on the sea, Abel had reached Moga's shore, all the villagers cheered when they recognized Abel, that had started his own career on that village, many years had passed and Abel, the village and the villagers had changed a lot, for example, the chief had got much much older, when he left the village he had the age that Abel had now, also, the kids that once had admired him as a hero where now full grown adults.

For first time in a lot of time Abel felt... Old... Even if he was in perfect phisical conditions he still was 40 years old... He was one of the oldest hunters out there for sure, as his hair, that was starting to get grey, proved. But anyway, Abel was in the best moment of his career as a hunter, he was stronger and faster than ever, "Heh... Hunters are like wine... The older they are the better they hunt!", he said, but he knew that he wouldn't be powerful forever, someday he would be to old to hunt, as the chief of Moga, even in that aspect, hunters were like wine, when it got to old it became vinager.

He knew perfectly that he had a limited amount of time to end with the Bringer and free New Eden, and that time was beginning to run short, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to stop smiling and waste such an unique oportunity like going back to where his legend, the tale of a once legendary hunter that had been said to be the king of all hunters and that one day, when he recovered from the horrible wounds received when he fought for the first time against the Bringer, had dissapeared, ran away of Loc Lac, wild and free as the monsters he hunted.

"This place sure brings me fond memories..." he said, he could remember a lot of quests that he had fulfilled there, some where funny, like the time that he killed a Great Jaggi forcing it to drink alcohol, and anothers where epic, like the time he had been swallowed alive by a giant deviljho and he had got out of it slicing it's stomach and skin with his sword.

He bited then the jaggi that he had hunted and roasted before, that flavour also brought him back to a glorius past, full of hope and dreams, when he was a newbie, of those days that shall never come back...

He saw then a hunter fishing in a sort of hideout, he seemed a very new hunter, as his basic bowgun sugested, he somehow reminded Abel of himself 20 years ago, but maybe it was because he was in Moga.

He approached him without trying to hide his presence, anyway, it was impossible with the clenching and clanking of the gears of his biomechanical armor, surely, he had noticed his presence quite long ago.

"Hello there!" Abel said loud as he used, giving him a friendly hug, huging was the way of greeting someone in New Eden, and it was a tradition that Abel had always followed.

"It's a pleassure to find in this island a fellow hunter!, Name's Abel by the way", he said, with a big grin and his wright hand over the shoulder of the hunter.   

"Oh, hello, im looking for some rare frogs, do you know where i can find them?"

Umi pulled his lure back, removing the fish from his hook, he threw it back into the water. He needed a specific type of frog to craft his dream weapon, a hunting horn imbued with the power of water. Of course, he was still learning how to work his hunting horn, and barely knew how to produce a sound from it, much less make music. For now he was stuck with his heavy bowgun, a fairly shotty piece of craftsmanship. His Bone Shooter was made up of bones from animals he hunted, welded together with pieces of metal.

"Im kind of a new hunter, do you mind helping me out?"

Umi noticed the hunter to his right, but tried not to move, from behind him, a Jaggia was stalking them just beyond the edges of the inlet pond he was fishing in, barely noticeable aside from her tail flicking around, casting a shadow behind it on the wall from the bright afternoon sun.

OOC: You must know that I am who introduces ALL the monsters in all threads, so don't say that you saw a jagia alive, since it's me who has to say that there was a Jagia, anyway, don't worry, just don't do it again

The Jaggia watched both of the hunters from a secure distance, making a deep hiss as it took an attack posture, soon another three Jaggia joined it, surrounding the hunters, one of them jumped over the oldest one and the other three surrounded the younger one, two near him at his sides and one, the biggest one, infront of him, rigid last one ran towards him, as if it was about to attack him, but instead it jumped back, in that moment, the Jaggia at the young hunter's side attacked his arms, trying to bite his hands.

(That would make more sense....sorry )

"BOOM!"

With a moment notice to react, Umi clumsily shot his heavy bowgun, loaded full of regular shot shells. Pulling the trigger, the bowgun launched a shell with a loud explosive blast, propelling it at the jaggia closest to him. He turned to the other hunter, who looked fairly skilled, and asked for help.

"Can you help me please?"

"Well... Searching for frogs gas never been my favorite hobby... But I suppose that I can help you... In fact, since I've lived on this island for some years, I know a place where you'll find all kinds of frogs!" Abel said, smiling warmly.

He heard then a sound at his back, spinning on his right feet, he turned in a single second to face the Jaggia "Well well well, it seems that this is going to get funny!" he said, with a big grin on his face, Abel could remember himself in that same place hunting Jaggia 20 years ago or so, definetely, this trip wasn't just a trip to Moga, but also a trip back in time.

One of the Jaggia jumped over him trying to make Abel fall to the ground, Abel aimed then a single blow at the Jaggia's neck with the clawed metallic gauntlet on his left arm, with a strength and speed that hardly could be classified as 'human', then he turned when he heard the noob asking for help, he had been surrounded by three jaggias, he had shot to the biggest one that was at infront of him, but this was an error, since bird wyverns such as the Jaggia attacked almost always trying to distract the hunter with a false frontal attack and then attacking the sides of their prey to trap it, it seemed that this strategy had worked with the gunner.

"Guezz man... You are such a noob!", Abel said very loud, throwing his head back as he laughed, he ran extremely fast towards the Jaggia at his wright side and aimed a kick for its chest, however, as Abel's feet approached to the Jaggia, it transformed into a giant spike, then he jumped over the biggest Jaggia that was preparing itself to attack Umi's neck and aimed a downwards slash at it.

Abel's blow landed on the neck of the Jaggia that had attacked him, a very nasty cracking sound was heard, and the Jaggia was thrown several meters away, it landed and remained stiff on the floor, dead.

The other three Jaggia had been more successful, managing to trap Umi, the frontal one had received a bullet from his bowgun, but it got back on its feet and furious, it tried to bite Umi's neck, however, before it did, the oldest hunter attacked fast as a thunder, stabbing with his leg the Jaggia on Umi's wright side, killing it, then he jumped over the frontal one, his slash almost cutting it on two halves, the last one, being alone, tried to run away in the direction of the Jaggi's nest.
