Name: Ariadne "The Angel" Williames
Nicknames: Ariadne The Angel; Heavenly Shield Ariadne
Alliance: Guild Hunter
Appearance: Ariadne stands out among her peers, as her family came from foreign lands. Her features are very "western." She has long golden blonde hair and striking blue eyes. Her skin is paler than most of her peers, and her jaw is well-defined. She's around 6 feet tall, and her muscles are fairly defined. Her beauty is well-known among her guild peers, though most of her body is often hidden under heavy armour.
Personality: Ariadne is patient, kind, and friendly. She is always willing to help, and sometimes spreads herself thin trying to help too many people at once. She tends to be too hard on herself and cannot help but blame herself when someone is hurt. Her prestige and foreign appearance sometimes make people nervous, but her down-to-earth personality makes those that speak with her grow quickly fond of her.
Biographies: Ariadne comes from nobility. Her family came from far off lands some time ago, and established itself in hunter country. Many of her ancestors and family members were well-known and influential people, and many were associated with the guild. Her father was a top guild researcher, and her uncle Kidaf was a famous gunner for the guild. Kidaf is still alive, but he is retired from hunting due to age. He is still always ready to offer advice to Ariadne and other hunters though.
Ariadne grew up privileged. She's well educated and learned ideals before she learned common sense. She has been around the guild and great hunters all her life, so she is comfortable with the guild. She grew up in a large central city, but she often visited smaller villages and towns for long periods of time. When she was just 13 she was in such a town, when a Rathalos wounded by an unknown attacker fell upon the town in a wounded frenzy. Red blood dripped from huge claw marks across it's scales, which instead of red and black were a startling silver and harder than steel. Before the wyvern could destroy the entire town, a group of guild hunters managed to bring it down. Ariadne grieved for the lives lost, and greatly admired the valiant hunters who fought to protect the town. It was then she decided she would become a hunter.
Kill Tally: Leave blank for now.
Weapons: Ariadne's signature weapon is a lance with a mighty tower shield. Crafted with ice crystals, the lance is cold to the touch and has a small ice elemental effect. While not enough to freeze a monster solid, it can freeze a monsters blood if a major vein is penetrated. This makes her vital strikes even more critical. The shield has a picture crossed swords pointing downwards, with angel wings spreading from them. She also usually carries an ornate rapier given to her by the guild. Though it is made from precious metals and with excellent craftsmanship, it's small size means it is not really of use against wyverns and other large monsters.
Style: Adriane prefers to fight in groups of hunters, using her shield to protect her comrades and create openings for them. When fighting a monster, she uses her shield to redirect monsters' attacks and create openings for her to stab her lance into a vital area. (Such as deflecting a kut-ku's peck and going for the neck.)
Special Modes: - Spoiler:
Name: Heavenly Shield
Requirements: A proper shield and armour. (The shield has to be very large and the armour has to be specialized in order to take the stance and withstand the shock from heavy blows without injury.) The stance takes a few seconds to enter and exit.
Description: Assume a defensive stance with your tower shield in front of you. Armour locks into place and digs into the ground. Allows hunter to withstand mighty blows, even greater than the protection a great shield normally offers.
Effects: Instead of merely protecting the hunter, this defensive stance stops the attack out flat. Even stopping or slowing a wyvern's charge. Of course, the hunter cannot move or attack while she is in this stance. Used primarily to protect comrades, and create openings for them to attack.
